Sports Premium
What is PE and Sport Premium?
Since September 2013, the government has been providing additional funding for Physical Education (PE), to improve provision of PE and sport within primary schools.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
Funding for schools is calculated by reference to the number of primary-aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11), as recorded in the annual schools census.

How Foulds spent the 2025-26 Sports Premium funding?
- extra-curricular opportunities, including trips and club support payments to ensure all children have access to these opportunities.
- equipment and resources which includes resources for PE lessons, clubs and outdoor classes and improvements to the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds.- membership and subscription fees including membership of the Barnet Sports Partnership (BPSS). This gives us access to attend all the events they arrange including the Sportshall Athletics competition, Cross Country meets, Tag Rugby festivals, the Tennis tournaments, the Dodgeball Festival, Copthall Athletics and the many football tournaments, festivals, leagues and cups.
- CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for staff and volunteer coaches.
- staffing to ensure we can attend inter-school events.
- internal top-up swimming lessons to broaden aquatic opportunities for pupils and to ensure as many Year 6 children as possible achieve the government standards before they leave.
Thank you to all the teachers, coaches and parents who leads club and the many volunteers who give their time free of charge so grant money can be spent on other priorities, extra-curricular opportunities, including trips and club support payments to ensure all children have access to these opportunities.
